The SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Sequel Will Reportedly Feature a Femme Fatale Character
Some new details have emerged from Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel regarding a new mysterious character that will play a role in the story.
According to That Hashtag Show, Marvel Studios is on the hunt for an actress to take on the role of a femme fatale character. According to the site, they are looking for a 20-something-year-old European actress to play this character.
We don't know who this character is, but she is described as "a mysterious European young lady that will likely lead [Spider-Man] into danger." I'm sure a lot of comic book fans might guess or hope that this character could be a new European version of Black Cat. She is set to star in her own film with Silver Sable at Sony Pictures. Hell, Silver Sable is a mercenary hailing from the fictional Eastern European country Symkaria, so there's a chance that it could be her as well. I guess it could actually work if the Spider-verse films that Sony is making are connected to the MCU, which was recently rumored. The report makes the following observation:
We know Hardy will be co-starring in Sony’s Silver and Black and that they are looking to cast an actress in her 20s in that role as well. That film begins production in early-March and wraps in mid-June, meaning it would be possible for the actress to play the role in both films, especially if, as recent rumors have suggested, the Sony films may be even more connected to the MCU films than we have been led to believe.
Then, of course, there's always the possibility it could be a completely different character. Who do you think this character could be? Who do you want it to be?
Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts is returning to direct its sequel, which will pick up right after Avengers 4. The film begins shooting this spring.
The Spider-Man sequel opens in theaters on July 5, 2019.
