The TERMINATOR 2 T-1000 Liquid Metal Effect Pulled off Practically By Corridor Crew

I remember watching Terminator 2: Judgement Day in theaters for the first time and being completely blown away by the liquid metal effects of the T-1000.

No one had ever seen anything like that before and it was a big breakthrough in visual effects at the time. While the effect was created with CGI, Wren from Corridor Crew set out on a journey to replicate it using practical effects, and he pulled it off!

The trick to make it work was to create a 3D model to mold a gallium bust, melting it, then playing the footage in reverse. It’s pretty cool to see, and you can check it out below!
