THE WALKING DEAD Showrunner Teases the 11th and Final Season Is "Unlike Anything People Have Seen Before"

We are just beginning the final episodes in the extended 10th season of The Walking Dead this week, but the creators of the show have us eyeing the 11th and final season for some new action. Showrunner Angela Kang recently spoke with SFX Magazine about the final season, saying:

"We’re in the middle of prepping a pretty gigantic premiere for season 11. It’s going to have some action which – even this deep into it all – is hopefully unlike anything people have seen before. We’re always trying to creatively top ourselves, give people a really fun, cinematic experience, while also being true to these characters that people have grown to love."

It’s hard to imagine that they still have tricks up their sleeve after all this time, but it definitely gets me excited to see what she’s talking about. Kang went on to add:

"Surprisingly, there’s always still more room to go in different directions. The Whisperers went to a certain kind of scope and scale and epicness, but the next story we’re going into has a different version of it. We’re not going to be repeating ourselves with the type of story that we’re doing, but there’s still going to be lots of fun, scares, horror, and action."

I’m glad we are going to see something different. Knowing the series is going to lead into a couple of new spinoffs, it will be interesting to see what happens with the other characters. Aside from the films that will catch us up on where Rick (Andrew Lincoln) has been, and hopefully a reunion with him and Michonne, what would you like to see happen with our favorite The Walking Dead characters?
