This is Where I Think BLEACH: THOUSAND-YEAR BLOOD WAR Part 2 Will End

The first part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War ended back in December. At the end of the 2-part finale, fans were treated with a brief trailer for part two and teased that it would release in July 2023. Going a step further, VIZ shared that this second part of Bleach: TYBW would be called The Separation. I’ve been revisiting the Bleach manga courtesy of VIZ and I think I know roughly what to expect in part two.

Before we get into spoilers, I will say that I noticed part 1 of Bleach: TYBW covered roughly 6 volumes of the manga. It covered volumes 55-60 with a little bit of 61 thrown in as needed. The manga ran for 74 volumes which means that we have to cover about 14 volumes across three more parts of the anime. That gives us roughly 4-5 volumes per section. With this math, I think that The Separation will end part way through Volume 66. If you want to avoid any spoilers, stop reading now.

So, what does that mean? We left off with Ichigo finally getting his true zanpakuto and Ishida appearing to join Yhwach. If I’m correct, we’ve got some fun things coming our way. There’s a little more training with Squad Zero, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they cut it out and we’ve got a few housekeeping things happening for the Soul Reapers as they try to prepare for the Quincies. Then, we’ll have the second invasion which is far more devastating. A lot more happens.

During the second invasion, the Soul Reapers are able to turn the tables a little bit as they can reclaim their stolen bankai. We also see even more fights erupt across the Seireitei. These should be pretty awesome to watch. Other things to expect are the zombification of Hitsugaya, Zaraki’s entering the fight and showing off his zanpakuto’s shikai, Nozarashi. That’s going to be an incredible moment if they do it right. Almost as cool as when we see his bankai in probably the final part of Bleach: TYBW. Also, we’ll get to see Renji’s new bankai as well as Rukia’s bankai in action which is going to be so awesome to watch. I really hope they give Rukia’s bankai more time to be seen in the anime than in the manga because it feels a little short in my opinion.

On the Quincy side, we can expect one huge story moment: Yhwach naming Ishida as his successor. There are other important things that may happen depending on when the season ends such as the redistribution of powers.

As for where The Separation will end, I’m not sure if it will be when Yhwach enters Reiōkyū or when Ichigo and friends chase after him. What do you think we’ll see in The Separation? What do you hope gets focused on or skipped?
