Trailer For Aubrey Plaza's Dark Comedic Psychological Thriller BLACK BEAR

A trailer has been released for an interesting new film starring Aubrey Plaza titled Black Bear. The movie is a dark comedic psychological thriller that is set in a remote lake house in the Adirondack Mountains. The story follows a young couple who “entertains an out-of-town guest looking for inspiration in her filmmaking. The group quickly falls into a calculated game of desire, manipulation, and jealousy, unaware of how dangerously intertwined their lives will soon become.”

I had the opportunity to see the film at Sundance and it was a very different, unique, and complex kind of film. I liked it, there’s a lot of layers to the story and characters and it plays with some interesting philosophies.

Black Bear has a solid supporting cast that also includes Christopher Abbott, Sarah Gadon, Alexander Koch, Paola Lázaro, Lindsay Burdge, and Jennifer Kim.

Black Bear was written and directed by Lawrence Michael Levine (Territory, Gabi on the Roof in July, and Wild Canaries). It will be released in select US theaters and on VOD on December 4th.
