Trailer for Caitlin Cronenberg's Twisted Dystopian Family Thriller HUMANE Starring Jay Baruchel
“For humanity to survive, 20% of the population must volunteer to die.” IFC Films has released a trailer for director Caitlin Cronenberg's dystopian family thriller, Humane. In the story, a global environmental collapse forces world leaders to take extreme measures to reduce Earth's population. The movie stars Jay Baruchel, Emily Hampshire, Peter Gallagher, and Enrico Colantoni.
Caitlin Cronenberg is the daughter of David Cronenberg, and she’s described as being a “supremely gifted visual storyteller in her own right.” It looks like she’s made a solid film that tells an interesting story, and I’m looking forward to watching it.
Humane “takes place over a single day, mere months after a global ecological collapse has forced world leaders to take extreme measures to reduce the earth’s population. In a wealthy enclave, a recently retired newsman has invited his grown children to dinner to announce his intentions to enlist in the nation’s new euthanasia program. But when the father’s plan goes horribly awry, tensions flare and chaos erupts among his children.”
