Trailer For Netflix's Series Adaption of Mark Millar's Superhero Comic JUPITER'S LEGACY
Netflix has released the first trailer and a poster for its upcoming superhero series Jupiter’s Legacy, which is based on Mark Millar’s comic book series. It looks like a vibrant, stylish, and cool show filled with epic action that audiences and fans of the genre will enjoy.
Jupiter’s Legacy is a multigenerational drama that follows the world’s first generation of superheroes, who received their powers in the 1930s. In the present day, they’re the revered elder guard, but their superpowered children struggle to live up to the legendary feats of their parents.
The synopsis reads:
"After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world's first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents' legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards. Based on the graphic novels by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, Jupiter's Legacy is an epic superhero drama that spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty."
When previously talking about the show Millar said, “It’s a 50-year story self-contained inside one franchise. It’s got a cast of 50 or 60 super-characters. The story starts in 1929 and runs until the end of time. It runs through all time and space and explains the mystery of human existence, all tied into a superhero story… There hasn’t been one conversation where someone said, ‘Can we make that explosion slightly smaller?' Ambitious ideas are being rewarded.”
The series stars Josh Duhamel (Transformers) as Sheldon Sampson/The Utopian. He is the “storied leader of the superhero team The Union. But times have changed, and he doesn’t understand the world we live in anymore. Or his own family.”
Duhamel is joined by Ben Daniels as Walter Sampson/Brainwave, Leslie Bibb as Grace Sampson/Lady Liberty, Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson, Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson/Paragon, Mike Wade as Fitz Small, and Matt Lanter as George Hutchene/Skyfox.
The project was created and executive produced by Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil). He was originally attached to serve as the showrunner, but he dropped out due to creative differences. He ended up being replaced with Sang Kyu Kim.
The first season of Jupiter's Legacy consists of eight episodes and it premieres on Netflix on May 7th.
