Trailer For Pamala Anderson's THE LAST SHOWGIRL Directed By Gia Coppola
Roadside Attractions has released the first trailer for Pamala Anderson’s upcoming film The Last Showgirl, and Anderson has been getting a lot of praise for her performance in the movie.
The Last Showgirl is described as “a poignant film of resilience, rhinestones and feathers.” Anderson plays Shelly, “a glamorous showgirl who must plan for her future when her show abruptly closes after a 30-year run.”
The movie is set in Las Vegas and it explores the story of a woman who finds herself at a crossroads with her stage production on its last legs.
The movie was directed by Gia Coppola and it also stars Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song, Billie Lourd, Dave Bautista, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Curtis plays a waitress and confidante to Anderson’s character. Bautista plays Shelley’s manager and ex-lover, who breaks the news about the end of her career. Shipka and Song play two colleague showgirls moving on to greener pastures. Lourd plays Anderson’s daughter, Hannah.
Anderson previously said of the film: “A lot of my career was about physicality and it’s been a journey, but it’s also been part of the reason why I’ve kind of done this experiment with myself with just, you know, peeling it all back, remembering who I am not being defined by what people do to me, but by what I do.”
The movie will get a limited L.A. release on December 13th as an awards-qualifying run and it will hit theaters nationwide on January 10th.
