Trailer For The ANNE OF GREEN GABLES Anime Brings a Fresh Take on a Classic Story

Anne of Green Gables is getting a fresh anime adaptation from Answer Studio and they’ve just dropped a new trailer giving us a tease of what it will deliver.

The upcoming series, set to premiere on April 5th, will span 24 episodes and it will bring a Japanese perspective to the beloved Canadian classic.

This new adaptation isn’t a direct take on L.M. Montgomery’s original novel but is instead an interpretation of the manga version of Anne of Green Gables.

The brief teaser highlights Anne Shirley’s energy and charm, showcasing moments from her childhood that have made her a literary icon.

The story follows Anne Shirley, an 11-year-old orphan who is mistakenly sent to live with Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, siblings who had intended to adopt a boy to help with farm work.

Despite the mix-up, Anne’s fiery spirit, endless imagination, and knack for getting into trouble quickly win over the small community of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island.

Montgomery’s novel, first published in 1908, was just the beginning—Anne’s journey continues through several books, chronicling her growth into adulthood.

While this anime primarily adapts the first novel, elements from later books will also find their way into the series.
