We got to see some new footage of Universal Pictures' upcoming action-adventure film Twisters! The footage was screened at CinemaCon 2024 and we were there to witness the tornado madness! Here's our reaction!
This movie looks like it’s going to deliver a ridiculously fun time at the movies! The movie is what it is and if you’re willing to embrace the wild ride that it will take you on… awesome!

This is a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister, and the movie stars Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Cooper, “a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi to test a groundbreaking new tracking system.”
It’s here that she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), “the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.”
The synopsis goes on to say: “As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.”
Twisters also stars Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) as Javi, alongside David Corenswet (Superman: Legacy), Brandon Perea (Nope), Sasha Lane (American Honey), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Nik Dodani (Atypical) and Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy).
The movie hits theaters on July 19th, 2024!
