Tyrese Gibson to Join Sony's Adaptation of Marvel's MORBIUS THE LIVING VAMPIRE

Fast and Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson is in negotiations to join Jared Leto in Sony Pictures’s adaptation of Marvel Comics’ Morbius The Living Vampire. Gibson will also join the previously cast Matt Smith, Adria Arjona and Jared Harris.

Leto is playing Morbius, "a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and attempted to cure himself to disastrous results. Instead of being cured, he became afflicted with a condition that was a form of vampirism — the thirst for blood, along with fangs and super strength — and fought Spider-Man. Over time, however, he became a slightly heroic figure in his own right and even headlined his own comic book titles."

Smith is set to portray the villain, Loxias Crown, who is Morbius’s best friend who also suffers from the blood disease. Arjona will play Morbius’s love interest, Martine Bancroft, while Harris will portray Morbius’s mentor. As for Gibson, he will take on the role of an FBI agent who is trying to hunt down Morbius.

Leto shared a photo of himself on the set of the film yesterday that you can check out here. Daniel Espinosa (Life, Safe House) is directing the movie, and it will be released in the summer of 2020.
