In the newest addition to the Star Wars saga, we were introduced to a handful of new characters and creatures. One of the clear standouts, Rose Tico is an important new addition into the world of Star Wars: The Last Jedi—and actress Kelly Marie Tran is clearly living a dream that lots of fans have.

Now a new behind-the-scenes featurette is showing us the very moment she locked down her place in the cast. We even get to see Tran's reaction to one of her final auditions before being offered the role.

We also see a chemistry test he had with John Boyega, to see how she meshed with the actor she’d be spending most of her time within the movie. The video also includes director Rian Johnson's reaction to Tran, describing her as the exact character he had in mind.
