Watch the Exciting Deckbuilding Video for MAGIC: LEGENDS
Magic: Legends is an upcoming free-to-play action RPG set in the world of Magic: The Gathering and sees players become Planeswalkers. The game is being developed by Cryptic Studios and published by Perfect World Games who have recently released a trailer for the game and announced an Open Beta. The trailer introduces potential players to the idea of deckbuilding that you’ll need to balance to become an awesome Planeswalker. An aspect that I really appreciate is that any Planeswalker can use any cards, you’re not tied to your Planeswalker’s color. It looks like it has some potential, but I am concerned about the fact that the cards you can access on the battlefield are drawn from your 12-card deck at random.
Ancient forces move in the darkness and it’s up to you to walk the planes of the Magic Multiverse, and gather the power needed to fight this evil. Choose your path through diverse planes, collect unique spells to create powerful spell hands, and control the chaos of battle as you fight to save the Multiverse from its greatest threat yet.
MTG fans will be able to play Magic: Legends on PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year, but PC players will get to play earlier than console players. Sort of. On March 23, an Open Beta on Arc Games will launch allowing for PC players to get the first taste of the new game.
