WEST SIDE STORY Star Rachel Zegler Cast in Key Role in SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS

A new report has been released stating that newcomer Rachel Zegler, who is about to star in her debut film role as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, has been cast in a key role in the upcoming Shazam! sequel, Shazam! Fury of the Gods. While it is said that she will play a key role, what that role is is being kept under wraps for now.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will continue the story of teenager Billy Batson, who, upon reciting the magic word “Shazam!” is struck by the Living Lightning of the gods and transformed into his adult superhero alter ego, Shazam. He navigates this newfound power with the help of his foster family.

The family will return to reprise their roles, which were revealed to have also been given powers at the end of the first movie, with Billy Batson played by Asher Angel and Zachary Levi, Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer and Adam Brody), Eugene (Ian Chen and Ross Butler), Pedro (Jovan Armand and D.J. Cotrona), Darla (Faithe Herman and Meagan Good), and Mary (Grace Fulton and Michelle Borth).
