Wildly Energetic New Trailer For Marvel's THUNDERBOLTS* - I Love The Vibe It's Selling
Marvel has released a new trailer for Thunderbolts* and I love the energy that it brings! This is a movie that I’ve been very excited about and this trailer did a great job of pumping up that excitement even more! I just love the vibe that it’s selling.
The trailer also features new footage from the next MCU movie, including Yelena Belova coming face-to-face with herself, Bob's feet starting to float above the ground, and Bucky punching a guy out, who is wearing a chicken costume.
When recently talking about the movie, the director expained how it was inspired by Toy Story 3, saying: “I had Toy Story 3 in there. It wasn’t as focused on a genre as much as dynamics amongst characters. They all have that dynamic of a team that is thrown together.”
“That [furnace] sequence works so well because you’ve come to care about these characters so much. Can they get out of the trash can together?”
The plot summary reads: “A world without Avengers doesn't mean there's not a group of superheroes. There is a group and they're called the Thunderbolts. A group of supervillains from the MCU are recruited to go on missions for the government.”
Julia Louis-Dreyfus reprises her role as CIA director Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in Thunderbolts*. She made her debut in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ when she talked John Walker (Wyatt Russell) into dropping the Captain America persona in favor of U.S. Agent.
De Fontaine later showed up in the post-credit scene in Black Widow when she assigned Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) to eliminate Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).
Her most recent appearance was in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and there it revealed she was director of the CIA.
The cast of Thunderbolts* also includes Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Lewis Pullman as The Sentry, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.
The film is being directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, Kidding) and was written by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) and Kurt Busiek.
Thunderbolts* is currently set to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025.
