WTF: [Spoiler] Apparently Has Flippers For Hands in BATMAN V SUPERMAN

Warning: Potential spoilers for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ahead.

We've known that Michael Shannon would return to reprise his role as General Zod in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for a while, and rumors claim Lex Luthor is going to accidentally turn him into Doomsday, reanimating his corpse and unleashing him on Superman. At the very least, we know that Zod's body appears in the movie since we saw it briefly in the trailer, but there's a new angle on his appearance that I don't think anyone saw coming.

In a new interview with Vulture, Shannon reveals that he got trapped in a bathroom because his character now has flippers for hands:

“I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands. So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, 'Where’s Shannon? Where the fuck is he?' and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, 'Let me out of here!'”

There are a couple of different ways to read this. First, there's the chance that when he says flippers, he means some sort of prosthetic that resembles a normal human hand. He could conceivably be wearing something like that to make sure his hands or fingers don't accidentally twitch on camera if he's supposed to be dead. Then again, there's the second option — that he actually really means Zod somehow has flippers for hands now, meaning his character's body has seemingly altered its composition after death.

I'm sort of baffled by this one. What do you all think?
