X-MEN '97 Promo Teases The New Costumes For The Mutant Team

Marvel has shared a new promo for X-Men '97 and it teases the new costumes that the team will be sporting in the series.

These new costume designs are based on the classic costumes from the short-lived Pryde of the X-Men animated series, which were in turn inspired by the costumes for the team from the 1980s Uncanny X-Men era.

It was previously reported that the X-Men team would be getting new costumes, and that has now been confirmed and I think fans will like the direction the creative team is going with it.

X-Men ’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.

When previously talking about the design of the series, former showrunner Beau DeMayo said: "Every design choice is actually a clue to the storylines we're doing.”

He added: Nothing is arbitrary. It's a nice nod to Pryde of the X-Men. But it is to throw the X-Men back to a time where they're thinking about: What part of this do I want to keep? Was it truly simpler back then, or were we just more naive?"

The series stars original voice actors Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.

Beau DeMayo developed the series as the head writer and executive producer, but he was fired from the show. Jake Castorena is the supervising director and Charley Feldman is the supervising producer.
