Production is moving along on the reshoots, and editing it is taking to bring together the Zack Snyder cut of the film Justice League. As we all know, Snyder was the original director on the film, but he stepped down to be home with his wife and kids after his daughter died. The film went on to be finished up by director Joss Whedon, and it flopped big time in theaters. After a couple of years, Snyder revealed that his vision for the film was lost in translation and was never achieved, making fans want to see what he had in mind. HBO Max then allowed Snyder to come back in and do his thing, and we are now awaiting the streamer’s release of that four-hour viewing event.

Recent reports have let us into the process, revealing that Jared Leto’s Joker is going to be involved, as well as the members of the original cast, and now in a recent interview with Beyond the Trailer (via CB), Snyder talked about the lengths he had to go to in getting the reshoots done for The Flash actor Ezra Miller. Miller was in London on the set of another WB film, the third Fantastic Beasts, when Snyder was doing a few shots and photography for the actor, so the Fantastic Beasts crew worked with him while Snyder gave direction over Zoom. Here’s how he said it went down:

"I had to get a pickup shot of Ezra, and when we were doing this little bit (of photography). So the only way to do it, he's out on Fantastic Beasts and that's in London, and we weren't going to travel to London unfortunately, I would have loved to have done that. So what we did is we picked him up on a Zoom and the Fantastic Beasts crew I sent them these drawings I was like ‘Okay this is what he has to do, this is where he is.' I was right here and he was on his set, there was three monitors for me so I could see the set, and I could see Ezra, and I could see the camera. I guess my head, they had like a stand with an iPad for me. I was like is there anyway that could be on a remote controlled car that I could drive it around a bit? It was only a teeny bit so it worked out pretty well."

While some fans are wondering if all these reshoots are going to equal a whole new movie, Snyder reassured:

"In the end, it's gonna probably be about four minutes or five minutes of additional photography. In the four hours that is Justice League, it is four minutes."

That’s a lot of work for four minutes! But I am looking forward to seeing how it all turns out. Zack Snyder’s Justice League is set to his HBO Max in four hour-long episodes in 2021. Are you excited to see Snyder’s completed vision?
